Ho, Ho, Ho! CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
Welcome to this year’s virtual Christmas Raffle
Sunday, December 18th, 2022
Have you visited St. Joseph’s lately? There is a lovely couple who are staying close to the nurse’s station for a bit until they can find a new home. They have been arriving every December for about 20 years now and folks are always willing to take a chance on giving them a forever home! One of our dedicated staff nurses, Mrs. Mary Ellen Lehaf, has made it her mission to spend hours in loving labor, crafting the figures of Mr. and Mrs. Santa for all these years. The beautiful handiwork will delight the winner of the raffle for years to come.
This year there is also a bountiful gift basket filled with delicious goodies to share for the holiday and store gift cards awaiting redemption for even more enjoyment. Every year thanks to the generosity of our raffle participants we are able to fund our facility wide Christmas decorations. Once again, we will use the proceeds from this raffle to decorate all of the chapels and enhance our holiday activities for the residents. Please, if you could find it in your hearts to purchase a few raffle tickets, they are 3 for $5.00 or 8 for $10. Mr. and Mrs. Santa need a home! We also have the wonderful Basket of Cheer that will be a welcome addition to anyone’s holiday celebration. WE WELCOME YOUR PARTICIPATION! The more often you enter the more chances of winning you have… Join the fun and take a chance! We wish you all good luck! The winning tickets will be drawn by one of St. Joseph’s residents and the winners’ names and photos of this event will be posted for all to see. Please check out the website and enter as often as you can! You could be our newest winner.

Just a bit of history about our Santa Creator – THE ARTIST
One of our Nurses – Mrs. Mary Ellen Lehaf started to make this perfect couple about 20 years ago, or maybe more, so that the Sisters at St. Joseph’s could raffle off the dolls and make some money to decorate the chapel on the second floor of the nursing home. She has said over and over that it has become a pure delight making them year after year as she loves to crochet and making them just brightens up the nurse’s station lobby while they are on display. St. Joseph’s enjoys plentiful funds for the chapel through this raffle. Thankfully this year we will once again be able to share Mr. & Mrs. Santa with staff, residents and visitors alike as we are NOT under Covid visiting restrictions!
